Position overview

The Officer of Recruitment and Outreach supports the delivery of student recruitment and outreach activities to attract, engage, and enrol students at the Birkbeck Bengaluru Campus. The role assists in the implementation of recruitment campaigns, prospective student engagement initiatives, school and college outreach activities, and partnership development efforts that contribute to enrolment growth.

Working closely with the Manager of Recruitment and Outreach, the position helps maintain relationships with prospective students, educational institutions, and other stakeholders, ensuring a positive and professional experience throughout the student recruitment journey. The role contributes to market awareness activities, event coordination, lead management, and the effective conversion of enquiries into applications and enrolments.

The Officer of Recruitment and Outreach supports the achievement of enrolment targets and contributes to the successful growth and visibility of the Birkbeck Bengaluru Campus.

Main Duties:

Recruitment Strategy, Market Development & Partnerships

•   Support the delivery of recruitment activities aligned with enrolment targets and campus growth objectives.

•   Assist in identifying and engaging priority markets, student segments, and recruitment channels.

•   Build and maintain positive relationships with schools, colleges, educational partners, and other stakeholders.

•   Support the development of pathway and feeder relationships that contribute to student recruitment and conversion.

•   Work with academic teams to effectively communicate programme offerings and student opportunities.

•   Assist in employer, institutional, and community engagement activities across key markets.

•   Utilise market intelligence, CRM data, and recruitment insights to support recruitment planning and outreach activities.

•   Represent the University professionally at presentations, information sessions, and stakeholder meetings.

•   Identify opportunities to enhance student engagement and support recruitment growth initiatives.

•   Maintain collaborative and productive relationships with external partners, schools, agents, and community organisations.

Recruitment Operations, Applicant Conversion and Administrative Support

•   Manage prospective student pipeline and conversion from enquiry to enrolment

•   Ensure timely and high-quality communication with applicants and agents

•   Track and improve conversion rates across the recruitment funnel

•   Oversee campaign delivery and recruitment communications

•   Track recruitment performance metrics and pipeline data

•   Analyse trends, identify bottlenecks, and optimise strategies to improve outcomes

•   Provide regular reporting and insights to the Head of Student Recruitment

•   Oversee delivery of outreach activities including school visits, fairs, open days, and events

•   Manage agent performance and recruitment channel effectiveness

•   Coordinate with Student Services and Admissions to ensure seamless onboarding

•   Maintain SOPs, process documentation, and compliance standards

•   Manage competing priorities including campaigns, events, and recruitment cycles

•   Ensure delivery against enrolment targets and institutional growth objectives

Teamwork, Continuous Improvement and Compliance

•   Work collaboratively with colleagues across Recruitment, Admissions, Student Services, Marketing, and Academic teams.

•   Contribute to a positive, student-focused, and performance-oriented team environment.

•   Take ownership of individual performance objectives and recruitment activity targets.

•   Support the implementation of innovative recruitment and student engagement initiatives.

•   Identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, applicant experience, and operational efficiency.

•   Assist with the planning and coordination of recruitment events, logistics, and marketing activities.

•   Demonstrate strong organisational and administrative skills in managing workload and competing priorities.

•   Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and capability.

•   Contribute positively to team objectives and institutional growth ambitions.

•   Comply with all University policies and procedures, including Equal Opportunities, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), Data Protection and Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) requirements.
